News tip submitted by Hideout Resident, Tracy Seymour
Hideout residents Andrea and Steve Spaulding are chairing a Walk to End Alzheimers coming up August 21, 2021. This walk will be held in Park City.
Tracy and Glenn Seymour, also residents of the Rustler subdivision in Hideout, are organizing a team for this noble cause.
The Seymours I became involved with the Walk to End Alzheimer’s after Glenn’s mother, Birgitt, was diagnosed with the disease in October of 2015. By May of 2016, they had to move her to Omaha to be closer to where they lived, and by July of that year, they placed her in a memory care facility. They have walked every year and created a support and education group at their church to help others who were dealing with this devastating disease. In 2019, they moved to Hideout, participated in the 2019 Walk, and joined the planning committee for the 2020 Walk, which ended up being virtual. Glenn’s mother now lives in a memory care facility in SLC.
Those interested in supporting the Seymours team can do so by looking up the name “Rustler at Hideout” at act.alz.org or directly by accessing their fundraising page at: http://act.alz.org/site/TR?fr_id=14831&pg=personal&px=13555376.
This year’s walk, the walk will be in person. You can learn more about the organization, Walk details, or create your own team by going to act.alz.org.
